I have not heard of Jambi by Tool although the lyrics are beautiful. I am very aware of Iris by Goo Goo Dolls though and I can completely relate to those lyrics, in many ways, on numerous levels and relationships.
The impact of music is intense and truly awe-some. I find often my feelings are better expressed in a song written by someone other than myself.

It’s always nice to find songs we relate to. It’s also funny to see how we change the meanings of songs to fit an aspect of our lives.

There are two songs that Master and I kept for ourselves even before we entered this D/s relationship, and both of those songs actually seemed to become more relevant to us.

Jambi — Tool

Interesting that you mention BDSM and in some ways I can see how it relates. Truly for me, the experience that I shared with my Master just seemed befitting with the song.
